Karen Gardner, BFA, LMT is a licensed massage therapist with a private clinical practice that includes both horses and humans. Her 10-year-old human practice is located in Copley Square, Boston with Melman Chiropractic Group and is called Shiatsu Therapy Treatment. She treats professional dancers, athletes, and office workers and collaborates with other health care professionals. She is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB), is a certified practitioner with the American Organizaton for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA), and is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

She is affiliated with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and United Health Care as a certified massage therapist specializing in East Asian bodywork techniques and is promoted in their literature. Members with either insurance receive a 20% discount off the fee with their insurance card.

Karen Gardner is also a certified Equine Sports Therapist specializing in the Meagher Method of Sportsmassage for equines. She is certified by Jack Meagher and JoAnn Wilson. This is a specialized field of study for licensed massage therapists. Course description includes equine anatomy and physiology, biomechanics in motion, contraindications, kinesiology, application of the Meagher Method on competition horses of various disciplines, and the logic and technique of the Meagher Method in tandem with the ability to analyze problems in motion and to restore range of motion. This method is also used on canines (like Boo!).
